From 10 April to 19 July 2024
ICA Milan Foundation, directed by Alberto Salvadori, presents two new exhibition projects that open to the public in the spaces of Via Orobia from Wednesday 10 April to Friday 19 July 2024.
The ground floor hosts the Notizia exhibition, an unprecedented insight into the artistic practice of Erika Verzutti (São Paulo, 1971) curated by Chiara Nuzzi and Alberto Salvadori which includes new works - produced mainly in Milan - developed according to the specificity of the Foundation's space and characterized by a radical change in their conception and installation.
The solo exhibition addresses the artist's numerous lines of research: the study of the natural world, vernacular culture, daily life, the digital world, art history and international political conflicts. With Notizia Verzutti questions and poses the problem of how conceptually and visually the impact that newspapers and dailies - as well as the circulation of news that they convey - have on art and the making of art, also revealing the artist's fascination towards the printed paper both as a material and as a subject of one's artistic expression. Newspapers and news are at the center of reflection
Verzutti, divided into a selection of floor and wall sculptures made of bronze, cement, ceramic, resin, newspaper and other materials that represent the complexity and richness of the artist's formal and expressive lexicon.
