24 ORE Cultura - Gruppo 24 ORE, Alice Cosmai, head of the Art in Public Space Office of the Municipality of Milan, is the first project of artistic murals commissioned by a public museum, which transformed the spaces of MUDEC through the site-specific works of 10 international muralists. The historical section is curated by Silvia Bignami, an art historian. Luca Barcellona, with his calligraphic art, French artist and talented color designer Capo Bianco, Italian artist with a geometric style; the Italian Hitnes with his works inspired by nature and the animal world Mazatl, Mexican muralist and engraver unpublished in Europe Neethi, Indian artist, illustrator, and designer Cinta Vidal, Spanish artist with works that challenge perspective and architectural conventions Agus Rùcula, Argentine muralist and photographer known for her relational murals Aya Tarek, Egyptian visual artist with a vibrant style and Mohammed l'Ghacham, Moroccan artist naturalized Spanish who connects photography and large format painting. Each of them has created an original work, visible only for three months during the exhibition, interpreting the theme of "Journey" according to their personal vision: from calligraphic strokes to brushstrokes, from engraving to graphics, each intervention is unique and tells a different story. Through the choice of this topic, commissioned by MUDEC as part of the third interdisciplinary project that characterizes the entire schedule of initiatives dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Museum of Cultures, this exhibition is placed in a complementary dialogue with the exhibition "Travelogue. Stories of travels, migrations, and diasporas," hosted in the Focus rooms of the museum. The project has overturned the usual organizational logic of a traditional exhibition, creating a completely innovative experience that invites visitors to reflect on the evolution of contemporary urban muralism as a form of art necessarily in motion, capable of giving meaning to the places it touches. A powerfully identity-driven language that creates community and a sense of belonging, both when expressed spontaneously and when born from institutional commissioning.
