The Citadel of Celestino Solar is a museum of the city of Gijon ( Museo de la Ciudadela de Celestino Solar).

The Museum consists of what were the typical Asturian citadels inhabited by the Gijón working class at the end of the 19th century and for much of the 20th century. The Celestino Solar Citadel in particular takes its name from its builder, Celestino Solar, who built it between 1880 and 1890.

The Citadel became a museum in 2003. It is part of the Industrial Museums area of the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Education and Popular University of Gijón / Xixón, together with the Railway Museum of Asturias. The museum aims to interpret and explain to the visitor what were the living conditions of the working class of Gijon and of Asturias in general from the beginning of the industrial revolution, in the last quarter of the nineteenth century, up to the last decades of the twentieth century. The permanent exhibition is divided into four different thematic units. The family that owned the citadel is presented, as this has evolved over time until its final eviction. The different sections of the museum are distributed as follows: the large patio with the original remains of the masonry of the houses and floors, the small patio with the reconstruction of a row of houses and the toilets for community use corresponding to this patio. The corridor or the entrance alley where you can see several large murals made by the Asturian cartoonist Neto, which recreate scenes of daily life in the citadel. Finally, the spaces dedicated to temporary exhibitions that often concern housing, urban planning or social history from the late nineteenth century to most of the twentieth century.
