The Muséu del Pueblu d'Asturies was founded in 1968.
The museum aims to preserve, study and spread the memory of the Asturian people.
The museum extends over a 35,000 m² wooded area characterized by the presence of a brackish water pool.
The collections exhibited here include material and immaterial evidence including objects of various types divided into five areas: museographic, musical, photographic, documentary and oral.
The museum area has objects of daily use in the nineteenth and first half of the twentieth century, among these those for domestic use, for agriculture and breeding, traditional craftsmanship stand out. In the area dedicated to music, they are located instead
of Asturian bagpipes along with scores and recordings of Asturian music. Moving on to the photographic area, here are collected over a million photos and postcards from both the archives of professional and amateur photographers, together with researchers, newspapers and family albums. Finally, the documentation area is dedicated to the archives of personal documents (correspondence and memoirs) of companies and businesses; the graphic background (posters, labels, prints); the cartographic fund and the collection of periodicals. This area offers researchers and general users a library specializing in history and anthropology.
