The CIAC - Italian Contemporary Art Center is located in the historical center of Foligno. The Center is located near the church of San Francesco and Art Nouveau architecture of the city and is located on the ruins of a pre-existing building. The Center was established by the will of the artist Getulio Alivani together with architect Zamatti. The goal was to create a neutral, minimalist space that came in connection with the light and the surrounding works. The exhibition halls are divided on two floors and a terrace on which are arranged the works in the museum collection. Instead, the ground floor is home to temporary exhibitions and cultural events, lectures and screenings. The collection of works is the result of numerous donations and acquisitions and includes 36 works by artists who have exhibited in the Center over the years. The exhibition is conceived in chronological and thematic order. Among the most celebrated artists can be found: Gabriele Basilico, Hermann Nitsch, Giuseppe Terragni, Ryan Virginia, Rinaldi Eleonora and many others.
