From June 24 to October 5, 2025, the Mario Rimoldi Museum of Modern Art will present an exhibition dedicated to the late fellow citizen Paolo Gabriele Barozzi, painter - draftsman - art decorator, but above all a friend and, for many years, a valuable collaborator of the Rimoldi Museum.

Prematurely deceased on June 15 of last year, in addition to his paintings, so rich in great skill and deep feeling, Paolo left recognizable "traces", scattered here and there in the Ampezzo valley and beyond: in the chapels of the Retirement Home, of Chiave, of Cadin, of Vervei, at the Pontejèl Bierstube Forst, at the Hotel Ambra, in numerous private villas, at the Nuovo Passo Giau hotel, on the War Memorial plaque at the cemetery and so on.

In love with Cortina, where he was born 70 years ago, he contributed to making it more dignified with his refined and cultured taste. A culture that ranged in many areas, which Paolo never stopped nurturing and which is well reflected in his works. Although he imagined his works primarily in the environmental context linked to them rather than in an exhibition, we considered it important, in agreement with the family, to make them known to a wider audience.

An exhibition born out of friendship and gratitude and that, precisely for this reason, will also feature some works by four friends of Paolo, each of them, in their own way, captivated by art and who shared with him the gift and pleasure of expressing this feeling through pencils, brushes, and more: Emilio Bassanin, Gianfranco Mantovani Orsetti, Tobia Ravà, and Giovannibattista Segurini. The artist Giovanni Schiaroli also joined them.

The idea of creating a "convivium", where working in friendship, each with their own skills and originality, Paolo had expressed it several times: a section of the exhibition, which will be spread over two floors of the Rimoldi Museum, will represent just that.

The official opening of the exhibition will take place in July.
