From 27 January to 7 April 2024
Giuseppe Nodari , born in Castiglione delle Stiviere in 1841, is one of those young Italians for whom the feat of the Expedition of the Thousand constituted the highlight of their patriotic education.
Through Nodari's memory, crystallized in detailed illustrations , it will be possible to retrace one of the best-known events of the Italian Risorgimento , also outlined through the memoirs of Garibaldini closely linked to the Brescia area. In fact, Giuseppe Nodari is the author of a graphic reportage created precisely in the years in which photography began to be used as a documentation tool useful for the construction of a new idea of nation .
A series of 20 watercolors taken in the field are the materials made available by the AMICHÆ Association, to which will be added artefacts and works relating to the Expedition of the Thousand from the Brescia collections, a bust of Giuseppe Cesare Abba by Domenico Ghidoni, a pastel portrait of Giuseppe Guerzoni and infographics relating to the historical narrative of the company.
