From 14 October to 28 November 2021
One of the major protagonists of objective photography (Sachfotografie) and close to the avant-garde of the early twentieth century, Hans Finsler has specialized since the beginning of his career in the representation of objects. Organized in collaboration with the Rolla Foundation, this exhibition is entirely dedicated to a specific and particular series created in 1928 by the Swiss photographer commissioned by the German confectionery factory Most. The only subjects are the company's products, miniatures of chocolate and marzipan described in great detail thanks to a particular combination of technical ability and philosophical minutiae. Treated as unique works of artisanal and industrial ingenuity, the chocolate and marzipan sweets are thus suspended in a series halfway between advertising communication and recognition of authentic sculptural values.
