From 30 October to 30 November 2021, Cittadellarte Fondazione Pistoletto, as part of the Arte al centro 2021 review, presents Over Time, the video work resulting from the project by Laura Pugno developed and produced by a.titolo and curated by Andrea Lerda. The project is the winner of the 9th edition of the Italian Council (2020), the international promotion program of Italian art of the General Direction for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.

Over Time is a three-channel video installation that investigates the relationship between human beings and the natural environment, which has always been at the center of the artist's research, through a gaze on snow, a material that is both powerful and vulnerable, which conditions climates, systems of life and economies. .

On the occasion of the inauguration, at 4.30 pm, there will be a public talk entitled All the fault of mirror neurons, dedicated to the complexities that concern the communication of climate change. Starting from the images of Over Time, Grammenos Mastrojeni, diplomat and professor of Environment and Geostrategy and Giuseppe Barbiero, professor of Biology and Ecopsychology at the University of Valle D'Aosta will talk about it in dialogue with Laura Pugno and Andrea Lerda.

The images of the disappearing Arctic ice, the fires, the frequent hurricanes, arouse in us a strong sense of emotion and concern. However, this solidarity impulse on the part of mankind proves insufficient to face global problems and to transform this impulse into action. What languages are used to communicate climate change? What are the mechanisms that prevent mankind from acting in defense of its own survival? Can the design of new living and educational spaces - in which the natural element is rethought as a fundamental presence - be considered a tool for action and renewal?

The exhibition takes place in the context of Arte al Centro, a historic series of exhibitions, meetings and seminars that describe artistic practices of transformation of the social contexts in which they develop, created by Cittadellarte and its international network consolidated over the years, intended as devices for activities open to the collaboration of different subjects as well as to the use by visitors.
