The exhibition “Landscape painting. Works of the Eugenio Guglielminetti Foundation ”, exhibition of 40 paintings selected from the Foundation's patrimony.

From the late nineteenth century, the English and French experiences “en plein air” inspired the artists of the national academies to leave their studies, facing the integrity of nature, the sensitive and visual emotion of the seasons with a palette and easel. The landscape motif, from a decorative or historical and romantic fragment, became an autonomous composition on canvases or oil plates with precious chromatic reflections.

The collection of the Guglielminetti Foundation welcomes the visitor with the luminous “marine” of Hayez's pupil Giuseppe Bertini , of the Rear Admiral of the Royal Navy, painter and orientalist Enrico Secondo Guglielminetti , of the pupil of Michelangelo Pittatore Giulio Musso .

Between the two world wars, the contemplation of nature becomes an opportunity for confrontation with the green hills of Canella by Domenico Valinotti , the country studio of Gino Mazzoli , the drawing "San Marzanotto" by Giuseppe Manzone, the "Castello di Burio" by Pio Pia .

The section of the twentieth century, a new century of aesthetic research, starts with the delicate tempera "Giardini delle Tuileries" by Anselmo Bucci , the watercolor "Casali and vegetation" by Marcello Boglione , the perspective views of Mogadishu in the thirties by Giuseppe Pognante and the sanguine on paper by the illustrator Felice Vellan .

Among the testimonies of Asti artists active since the 1940s: the fresh tempera "Periferia" by Giulio Taricco , the lyrical oil "Sunset on the water lilies in San Marco" by Vincenzo Adorni , the airy perspective view of the painting "Landscape" by Alfredo Fea .

The intense artistic activity of the Second World War is testified by the lively personalities in the figurative exhibitions: from the pasty brushstroke of Emanuele Laustino in "Landscape in Monferrato", from the oil "Nebbia among the mulberries" by Renzo De Alexandris , from the vivid painting "Castelnuovo Calcea ”By Carlo Miroglio , the fresco on canvas“ San Damiano ”by Gigi Quaglia (Asti 1915-2004), the soft lights of Maria Martinengo , the tender pastels of the poet and writer Franco Asaro .
