The watercolor depicts a large group of people, many of whom wear the classic Breton costume, which in the initial intention should have represented the indigenous population during one of Pont-Aven's summer religious festivities. The depth is suggested only by the progressive reduction of the size of the figures. The sharp and marked outlines are taken from the original model by Emile Bernard.
