The "K / Wood" armchair is part of the "Smart Wood" family, one of the most recent collections and emblem of Kartell's commitment to the sustainability of production processes and the use of raw materials with low environmental impact.

The creative idea developed by Philippe Starck starts from the choice of a natural material such as wood which is transformed by Kartell into an industrial product. Through a special patent, only a thin layer of wood worked with a mold is used that is able to bring the curvature of the panel to the limit, creating three-dimensionality and roundness that guarantee maximum comfort.

For the Smart Wod collection, Kartell has obtained FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification which identifies products containing wood from forests managed in a correct and responsible manner according to rigorous environmental, social and economic standards.
