Lucio Fontana was an Italian painter, ceramist and sculptor. From an Italian family, but Argentine by birth, he attended the Brera Academy in Milan, devoting himself to sculpture; back in Buenos Aires he wrote the Manifiesto blanco with which he laid the foundations of the spatialist movement .
