Beato Angelico, Fra' Angelico or Giovanni da Fiesole, was an Italian painter. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on 3 October 1982, although already after his death he had been called Beato Angelico both for the exciting religiosity of all his works and for his personal qualities of humanity and humility.
