Caesaraugusta River Port Museum

Caesaraugusta River Port Museum

The River Port Museum is a small, central museum that houses the remains of the northeast corner of the Forum, the closest to the old river port. The Ebro River was navigable from Tortosa to Vareina (Logroño), and was an important communication route for both commercial and cultural exchange. It explains the singularities of navigation and the towpath

Inaugurated in 2000, among the preserved ruins are the remains of a large building and the marks of the legions VI Victrix and X Gémina, founders, together with IV Macedonica, of Caesaraugusta . The museum is part, together with the Forum, the Public Baths and the Theater, of the Caesaraugusta Route .
