The Vienna Clock Museum (Uhrenmuseum) is a museum dedicated to the measurement of time, located at Schulhof 2. The museum displays a vast collection of clocks from different eras and countries, including pendulum clocks, pocket watches, and wristwatches, as well as pieces from the Far East. The collection originated from the private collections of Rudolf Kaftan and Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach.
The museum is interesting not only for clock enthusiasts but also for those who wish to take a break from more traditional museums and immerse themselves in a unique atmosphere. The museum offers a journey through time exploring the history of time measurement, featuring pieces ranging from clocks shaped like fruits and flowers to those representing historical figures.
Additionally, in Vienna, there is another clock-related attraction: the Anchor Clock (Ankeruhr), located at Hoher Markt. This unique work of art clock features historical figures that complete a full rotation every 15 minutes, accompanied by music. Every day at 12:00, there is a parade of these figures with period music.
