From December 6, 2024 to March 9, 2025, the city of Vicenza hosts the extraordinary and original exhibition event Tre Capolavori a Vicenza. Leonardo da Vinci, Jacopo

Bassano, Gianandrea Gazzola, conceived and promoted by the Municipality of Vicenza with the co-organization of Intesa Sanpaolo and curated by Guido Beltramini, director of the Palladio Museum.

For the occasion, the majestic hall of the Basilica Palladiana, a symbol of Vicenza and a UNESCO heritage site since 1994, is transformed into an exceptional stage, a true theater where an encounter between three great artists from different eras will be staged: the studies and drawings of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), the altarpiece with The Flood of the Colmeda by Jacopo da Bassano (1510-1592), the unprecedented and spectacular site-specific installation by Gianandrea Gazzola (born in 1948).

Like last year's exhibition Three Masterpieces in Vicenza. Caravaggio, Van Dyck, and Sassolino was dedicated to reflecting on the experience of time, this year curator Beltramini has built a dialogue across the centuries among three artists on the concept of nature, declined into an essential and precious element underlying human life: water.

Leonardo believes Nature to be the "good mother of all things," which never creates anything unnecessary, in the fewest steps and with the least expenditure. Both the scientist and the artist must look to it to rediscover that harmony not artificially creatable, but inherent in every natural process. "Make your intellect in the likeness of the mirror," writes Leonardo.
