On display at the Reggia di Venaria are the extraordinary art collections of some of the most important families of the Genoese patriciate (the Pallavicino, the Doria, the Spinola, the Balbi) preserved at Palazzo Spinola di Pellicceria, along with the most recent acquisitions of the National Museums of Genoa with loans from other museums and private collections.
A unique heritage of art and history that includes famous paintings by Peter Paul Rubens, Antoon Van Dyck, Orazio Gentileschi, Guido Reni, Carlo Maratta, Luca Giordano, as well as Hyacinthe Rigaud and Angelica Kauffman, in addition to the masters of the great Genoese figurative school.
Through about a hundred works including paintings, sculptures, silverware, and furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries, an exhibition will be proposed referring to the collections of the palace that later became a museum, but also the story of the golden century of Genoa "la Superba", a Baroque theater, an ancient republic ruled by the doges, with its royalty and splendor.
With this exhibition, the great vein dedicated to the history, art, and culture of the courts continues, as well as the representation of their magnificence.
