From 2 September to 28 January 2024
The title of the exhibition, curated by Treti Galaxie, is a tribute to the Sonnet of griffins and hyphae and threads by the poet Andrea Zanzotto, taken from his collection Il galateo in bosco, published in 1978. In this work the author questions himself on the possibility to adapt classicism to contemporaneity, through a complex construction of references that proposes a parallel between the recovery of archaic language and the investigation of Nature.
Anastasiya Parvanova interprets Zanzotto's verse as a lens to read the relationships between his works: the threads are those of woven cotton and linen which, woven and framed, form the basis for his painting, while the hyphae, as in the mycelium of mushrooms, create relationships between work and work, and between the works and the environment that hosts them.
While the griffins refer to images of recurring mythological figures, from Ancient Egypt to heraldry, just as the artist's subjects are recurring from work to work.
