From 23 April to 6 November 2022
From 23 April to 9 October 2022, on the occasion of the Venice Biennale , the exhibition " Houng Dodinh. Ascension " is staged at the Correr Museum .
Ascension is a site-specific work. The artist took possession of the space by conceiving and designing a series of works specifically created for the event. The installation includes 14 paintings, each three meters high, placed in a triangular pattern around the wooden sculpture of the Madonna della Misericordia, which dates back to the 15th century. The artist invites you to enter the heart of the works supported by tall and tapered panels that, like candles, guide you through the mystical atmosphere that hovers in the Hall of the four doors.
Huong Dodinh's Ascension installation envelops the viewer. The artist invites the public to enter the heart of fourteen great works supported by as many tall and tapered panels that, like candles, guide us through the mystical atmosphere that hovers in the Hall of the Four Doors. On the back wall, the imposing wooden sculpture of the Madonna della Misericordia dominates, a guiding presence for the gaze, the rhythm and the composition of the installation. This exhibition invites visitors to share the artist's perception of the world and of his most intimate emotions. The audience watches you, silent and impressed. Ascension is an inner journey of initiation.
