From 20 October to 12 December 2021
As part of Art Site Fest 2021, Palazzo Madama - Civic Museum of Ancient Art hosts, from 20 October to 12 December 2021, the site specific installations of the artist Carlo D'Oria.
Carlo D'Oria, a sculptor from Turin trained at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, explores the theme of the fragile and precarious human condition in all his production, which he faces in the polarity between individuality and multitude. In his works, essential shapes and lines, minimal plastic figurations, geometries and gears, colors and materials combine to give life to a universe populated with traces of the human presence. The design, also dried to become a line, acts as a counterpoint to the heaviness of the material. The sculptor uses marble, iron, stone that works on the border between abstraction and figuration.
D'Oria's rich production includes important public commissions for works that, in the classic role of monuments, are placed in squares and public places or in residences and historical sites, such as the one for the Racconigi Castle park, created on the occasion of the 2019 edition of Art Site Fest.
For Art Site Fest 2021 D'Oria realizes three site specific interventions, in three different places: Palazzo Madama - Civic Museum of Ancient Art, the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi and the Paleochristian Basilica of Nuvola Lavazza. These are unpublished works that follow a new artistic research recently started, all autonomous and original, but all in dialogue, in order to connect the three historical places in a single widespread work.
