The fabulous retrospective dedicated to Basmati Video , by Audrey Coïaniz and Saul Saguatti , opens at the CAOS in Terni Radianti . The famous duo, since the early 2000s, has developed a multimedia research capable of hybridizing and reinventing traditional graphic techniques in the fluid space of animation and experimental video. Focused on an interdisciplinary approach, the Basmati project acts as an incubator of audiovisual experiences that feeds the interweaving between manual operation and the expansive potential of digital.

In their research, the live performance becomes the terrain in which the sign and the material are combined with expressionistic deformations and are animated in real time, through a manual skill captured at work and expanded through video shooting. The exhibition brings together over fifteen years of work at the intersection of video, graphics and photography, involving the visitor in a unique, immersive and polymorphic experience. Matter, body and architecture are the three stages through which the exhibition itinerary unfolds , marked by a continuous reflection on overcoming specific media.

In addition to their most significant and well-known projects, such as the Transit City (2009), Orage (2016) or Halphabeth (2018) cycle, the retrospective dedicated to the duo will also feature two unpublished projects , specially designed for the occasion: Crack-Split and Hypercube . The first, created by Audrey Coïaniz, is a video and photographic work that reflects on the excesses of the presence of technology in our daily life; the second, created by Saul Saguatti, is instead an installation focused on the possibility of entrusting the digital image to a new material, light and flexible condition.
