The Musée Tomi Ungerer - Center international de l'illustration is a museum in Strasbourg. Opened in 2007, the museum is housed in the Villa Greiner, a building built at the end of the 19th century. The collection of the Musée Tomi Ungerer includes an important donation of 14,000 drawings by Tomi Ungerer - an illustrator from Strasbourg and a multifaceted artist of international renown - to the city of Strasbourg. The collection is presented according to a thematic path, with sections on illustrations of children's books, on satirical and advertising drawings and finally on erotic works. The museum also includes other works by additional 20th and 21st century illustrators. It was the first museum in France to be entirely devoted to 20th and 21st century illustration design. This art sector has long been regarded as a minor art, but it is a true tradition in Strasbourg.
