After many years, an exhibition on illustration dedicated to childhood and adults interested in this specific art form returns to Siena. The exhibition, realized in collaboration with the Zavrel Foundation of Sarmede (TV), offers an international perspective through original illustrations on the imaginative vision of authors who professionally dedicate their creativity to illustrations for books designed for various age groups.

The exhibition has always had the characteristic of providing an in-depth look at an author, and this time it is the turn of the Polish artist Joanna Concejo, with a overview of her work. The author, who works internationally and is published in Italy by the publishing house Topipittori, can boast important collaborations such as the one with Olga Tokarczuk, the award-winning Polish writer awarded the Nobel Prize in 2018.

The exhibition in Siena is curated by Michela Eremita, who has selected the works and designed the layout, presenting at the entrance two emblematic sculptures related to childhood. The sculptures are by Gabriel Pacheco, a Mexican artist of remarkable talent, who has been active in Sarmede for several years as the curator of the various editions of the "Immagini della Fantasia" and author of illustrations and illustrated albums.

During the exhibition, there will be meetings with some authors.

The educational activities, aimed at various age groups, will highlight the themes suggested by the illustrations.

Children will be able to discover many stories, some coming from distant countries, thus being able to engage with imaginary worlds belonging to different places and contexts.
