From 29 May to 29 July 2025
With the personal Three Bodies by Lul Nuti, the D'ARC Foundation inaugurated its program of temporary exhibitions.
The exhibition presents a body of works, chosen together with the curator Giuliana Benassi, which interact with the permanent collection and include three large installations, two of which are unpublished: The Enjoyers and Hysteria. Lulù Nuti's works often embody behavioral attitudes, alluding to possible interactions between sculptural and installative bodies, yet leaving to the vibration of the sculptural mass and its relationship with space the task of bringing out new readings and formal complements.
The Enjoyers is a group of five sculptures, born from an experimental process within the Lazio Contemporaneo 2022 call, in which humans and animals are both creators and enjoyers. Inspired by archetypal forms and composed of organic materials such as flour, yeast, water, broth, seeds, and blue food pigment, the works were placed for three days on the east quay of Isola Tiberina, where they were subjected to the action of the local fauna: from the result of this construction/deconstruction process, the resin casts of the sculptures exhibited take shape. Micro-projectors, placed inside them, also project onto the walls of the Foundation the recordings of what happened in the surrounding space to the organic sculptures during the days they were on the island.
Hysteria is a large installation, conceived as a prosthesis of the space in which it is inserted, made of forged stainless steel tubes like iron. The work interacts with the overhead gantry crane, recalling its industrial origin and visually imposing itself, while maintaining a mimetic quality with the environment. The "bipolar" ends, typical of Lulù Nuti's research, show the dual soul of the work, revealing two types of material processing.
