From 10 June to 30 July 2022
The exhibition, which unfolds in the ground floor rooms of Palazzo Carpegna, along the courtyard portico and on the Borromini ramp, exemplifies the numerous techniques used by the artist, from light projection to photographic images, from maps to drawing, in research of what the artist defines as "life", in its broadest meaning: earth, cosmos and human body. The exhibition project stems from the artist's invitation in 2019 to his agronomist brother, Marco Toderi, to create a series of images of materials and desert lands, chosen and "marked" by his passage and his gaze. This also resulted in an exchange of reciprocal reflections on earth and air, on water and fire. On the elements that make life possible. The artist says: “I spend almost all my time layering the images I shot, one on top of the other. Each single frame turns into another, just slightly different, and so on, multiplying into thousands of other frames that run bright across a surface and over time. This is how my video projections are born ”.
Grazia Toderi is one of the most representative artists on the Italian and international scene. Very young, in 1993 she exhibited in the Aperto '93 section of the Venice Biennale and then returned in 1999 (winning the Leone d'Oro) and in 2009. Many exhibitions in public spaces and museums including: Castello di Rivoli, Turin; Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona; Serralves Museum, Porto; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC; MAXXI.
