Show promoted by the Department of Culture of Rome Capital and Special Company Palaexpo Realized by Special Company Palaexpo in collaboration with Smile Project ODV
With the patronage of the Embassy of the State of Eritrea
The photographic exhibition Of light and dust arises from a project by Smile Project, a volunteer organization that has been operating in Eritrea for years with multiple projects to support local communities through targeted and sustainable interventions, with the aim of promoting a greater awareness of Eritrean culture, enhancing its identity and specificities, sensitizing the public on the importance of international cooperation and solidarity.
In the spring of 2025, the association involved a group of volunteers in a journey through the realities it has been developing and supporting for years. From this experience, a visual reportage was born, signed by Alessandro Moggi, a photographer who investigates reality with a deep and sensitive approach.
Through Moggi's lens, Eritrea is shown without filters: a country of great strength and dignity, made up of daily stories and small details that, together, make up a universe rich in culture and memory. Through Moggi's shots, the result of an aesthetic research based on respect for what he observes, an unfolding silent travel story takes shape through light, faces, the dust of the streets, and the gestures of a distant and little-known land.
