The Museo Carlo Bilotti Aranciera di Villa Borghese hosts from November 8, 2025, to January 25, 2026 the exhibition Deus sive natura. Works by Silvia Scaringella.

The exhibition, curated by Maila Buglioni, is promoted by Roma Capitale, Department of Culture, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, produced and organized by Lamaro Arte, with the support of Yourban2030, sponsored by Carrara City of Crafts and Folk Art, with the technical support of Tabularasa and in media partnership with HF4 communication. Museum services by Zètema Progetto Cultura.

The exhibition aims to investigate the possible relationship and coexistence between human beings and other living beings, both plant and animal, always present on the planet. While until the pre-industrial era this cohabitation did not generate any problems, from the nineteenth century onwards, technological evolution has brought about significant changes. Since the 2000s, the acceleration of progress, increasingly convulsive/spasmodic, has led to the first visible negative consequences, primarily with climate change.

In an era where human artifice is prevailing over the plant and animal sphere, the artist Silvia Scaringella, starting from Spinoza's reflection Deus Sive Naturae (God or Nature), felt the need to explore the still existing mimetic correlations between human collective behaviors and natural beings, the tree-house relationship or the ancestral home and human construction need, the relationship between flower morphology and the human skeleton, societal organization, and finally, the current impossible hypothesis of coexistence between beings belonging to different species in the same space.

Villa Borghese, with its rich vegetation composed of trees and shrubs that have thrived for centuries, is the inspirational source of the exhibition. From this natural environment, the artist drew her initial studies, dedicated to the representation of the natural world.

The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog published by Poligrafiche San Marco.
