All of a sudden marks the first solo exhibition in Italy of the Polish artist Aneta Grzeszykowska (Warsaw, 1974). Among the numerous accolades that have distinguished her career are her participation in the 59th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia and the presence of her works in important international institutions, such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

The exhibition offers a broad overview of the last two decades of Aneta Grzeszykowska's artistic research, along with a core of unpublished works, created during her artist residency at the D'ARC Foundation in the summer of 2025. During her stay in Rome, Grzeszykowska conducted an investigation into the city's urban landscape and its peculiar atmosphere, translating these elements into the new photographic series Daughter, produced between Italy and Poland. The work represents a conceptual evolution of MAMA (2018), originally presented at the 59th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia and partially exhibited here, further expanding the artist's reflection on simulacra and identity.

In this new body of work, Grzeszykowska uses a hyper-realistic mask that reproduces her own somatic features at the age of fourteen, meticulously reconstructed from family photographic archives, and wears it in performative sessions with her daughter. The encounter between the inanimate passivity of the adolescent face and the physical presence of a mature body generates a visual short circuit of profound ambiguity, destabilizing conventional notions of parental relationships and the persistence of memory. Temporality, evoked by the title of the exhibition All of a sudden (Out of the blue), emerges as the ontological pivot of the exhibition, functioning as a fundamental interpretative key for the works on display.
