The mission of the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea is to promote the understanding of our era through art and culture, engaging the local and international public to foster social and civil growth in the territory in which it operates. In addition to collecting and exhibiting artworks, the Museum is a center for creativity, research, education, and the development of culture, especially in the field of contemporary art, reflecting on the present through a dynamic relationship with the past. The Castello di Rivoli is also a reference point for the art world, establishing for the first time in Italy the model of a museum dedicated to contemporary art. With its innovative exhibitions and radical artistic performances, since its foundation in 1984, the Museum of Contemporary Art has developed taking into account the uniqueness of the baroque building that houses it. Designed in 1718 by Filippo Juvarra, the Castle is a constant source of inspiration for invited artists, stimulating the creation of new works specifically designed for the Museum's Permanent Collection.

The Museum is a vital center for experimentation, promoting significant artists from multiple generations, diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds. The Museum brings this process to life by curating a coherent exhibition program and public events that, in addition to making the Collection accessible, include the organization of unique and interdisciplinary temporary exhibitions.

A conceptual and professional milestone that has drawn from the place and specificity of contemporary art the elements that characterize and determine the figure of the Artenauta, a new and specific professionalism that goes beyond the now outdated concept of educational and museum guide.
