Dusk and night are the privileged time for many animal species to become active. As darkness falls, prey and predators emerge from their shelters to feed and hunt, their senses sharpened to navigate the darkness. Silent presences travel through woods, paths and fields, reaching the outskirts of cities, eluding man's gaze. Just beyond the 'transition zones' between light and darkness, between man and nature dear to Luigi Ghirri, it is the camera trap that documents a world active and populated nocturnal. The study conducted over the last thirty years by the staff of the current Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park, aimed at documenting also through photo-trapping the return and expansion of the wolf from the ridge to the plain, has allowed the acquisition of thousands of videos that document, even at a short distance from the city lights, the active presence of wolves, wild boars, badgers, foxes, porcupines, opening the gaze onto a night full of 'passages'.
