Once again this year, Palazzo Esposizioni Roma hosts the World Press Photo 2025 exhibition.

On April 17th, the winning photos and the photo of the year of the 68th edition of the prestigious photojournalism contest were announced, which has been awarding the best professional photographers every year since 1955, contributing to shaping the history of global visual journalism.

In 2025, 59,320 entries were received from 3,778 photographers from 141 countries. The winning photos were chosen by six regional juries and the winners selected by an independent global jury, composed of the Presidents of the regional juries and the President of the global jury, Lucy Conticello (director of photography at M, Le Monde's magazine) who stated: "While the World Press Photo Contest award is a huge recognition for photographers, who often work in difficult circumstances, it is also a summary of the main world events, albeit incomplete. As a jury, we looked for images that people could pause to reflect on."
