The cultural experience of Cesare Zavattini (1902-1989) is characterized by the versatility of interests and the use of different expressive means, constantly maintaining a marked "autobiographical" dimension in the creative process. The exhibition itinerary intends to illustrate the substantial organicity and coherence of Zavattini's work in the commitment to a reflection on his own self-representation and its transfiguration in the field of writing and painting. The exhibition, drawing on the rich collection of Zavattini's paintings in the Civic Museums and the documentary heritage of the Cesare Zavattini Archive preserved at the Panizzi Library presents a selection of materials capable of restoring the propensity for self-reflection in Zavattini's cultural and artistic experience. The strong contamination between forms of writing and painting emerges in the journey, as well as the transmedia dimension of Zavattini's artistic creativity , highlighting the strong connection between painting and literature that characterizes the activity of the Luzzarese author since the beginning of the 1930s and destined to constantly accompany him during his artistic itinerary.
