Davide Benati, Paola De Pietri, Omar Galliani, Claudio Parmiggiani, Fabrizio Plessi
On the occasion of the great exhibition "Antonio Fontanesi and his legacy. From Pellizza da Volpedo to Burri", the Civic Museums of Reggio Emilia present an exhibition at the Parmeggiani Gallery during tha same period, from April 6 to July 14.
Five protagonists of today's art, "born under the same sky", are invited to dialogue with Antonio Fontanesi. The Gallery of Anna and Luigi Parmeggiani, with its treasures and its stories, becomes an eloquent and precious frame of this meeting in which the artists set their own work renewing its meanings and motivations.
"The present is interwoven with multiple pasts," wrote Georges Didi-Huberman. So cross-references and attractions are intertwined between today's artists and the nineteenth century master: in Davide Benati’s work we see the East of an urban landscape and the beauty of a white and cobalt blue, in Paola De Pietri’s work the serial transformation of a cloud is suspended in a temporal night, in Omar Galliani’s painting we find the same gold of a distant horizon that participates in the never-ending pleasure of "painting", in Claudio Parmiggiani’s work is an homage to the pigments of painting and the fragrances of the world, while in Fabrizio Plessi we see the light of art that illuminates landscapes, nature and feelings.
Five artists, five works, five rooms: a tribute to master Antonio Fontanesi and the eternal future of art.
