From 6 April to 1 September 2019
Davide Benati, Paola De Pietri, Omar Galliani, Claudio Parmiggiani, Fabrizio Plessi
On the occasion of the great exhibition event "Antonio Fontanesi and his legacy From Pellizza da Volpedo to Burri" the Civic Museums of Reggio Emilia propose on the same dates, from 6 April to 14 July, an exhibition at the Parmeggiani Gallery.
Five protagonists of today's art , "born under the same sky", are invited to a dialogue with Antonio Fontanesi . The Gallery of Anna and Luigi Parmeggiani, among its treasures and stories, becomes an eloquent and precious setting for this meeting in which the artists set their work, renewing its meanings and motivations.
“The present is interwoven with multiple pasts,” wrote Georges Didi-Huberman . Thus between the artists of today and the Master of the nineteenth century references and attractions are intertwined: in Davide Benati it is the East of a fiery Afghan landscape and the purity of a white and cobalt blue, in Paola De Pietri it is the serial transformation of a cloud suspended in a stormy night, in Omar Galliani it is the same gold of a distant horizon that participates in the never extinguished pleasure of "painting", in Claudio Parmiggiani it is the homage to the pigments of painting and the perfumes of the world, in Fabrizio Plessi it is the light of art that illuminates landscapes, natures and feelings.
Five artists, five works, five rooms: a tribute to the master and the eternal future of art.
