Classis Ravenna is a Museum of the City and the Territory. The extraordinary story of the city takes place through its main junctions, from Etruscan-Umbrian origins to Roman antiquity, from the Gothic and Byzantine phases to the early Middle Ages, is developed through archaeological materials whose value is enhanced by being proposed in a unitary optics, as well as supported by modern technological aids. The Classis is an open museum, ready to enrich its narration with new acquisitions, always active on the research front and flexible in the exhibition structure, in accordance with contemporary museological criteria. Finally, a museum conceived to suggest and encourage further itineraries and insights, creating a real and virtuous collaboration with other exhibition centers and monuments in the area.
