On Sunday, February 2nd at 5:00 PM at the Concordian National Museum in Portogruaro (VE), the art exhibition Ruins will be inaugurated, organized by the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Veneto with works by the Venetian artist Lorisandrea Vianello. The exhibition, curated by Boris Brollo, is sponsored by the municipality of Portogruaro and benefits from the collaboration of AIAP - International Association of Plastic Arts, while the setup was made possible thanks to the technical support provided by Officine Clementi srl - Metal Carpentry. The exhibition seeks in the "disaster" of ruins the possibility of a dialogue, of recomposing memory. The Museum represents indeed the most suitable place to collect the history of the past to teach future generations how the civilizations that preceded us were, with their strengths and weaknesses. The exhibition therefore aims to constitute a "bridge" between present and past both for the type of material used in Vianello's works, namely glass, present in numerous artifacts exhibited in the Museum, and for the intrinsic characteristic of glass material, namely fragility which, typical of crystal, metaphorically refers to Truth, an ambiguous concept of these times. Among the various works exhibited, there will be two site-specific installations: one of them, entitled "The Dialogue," is composed of two front chairs with glass bricks on top that refer to each person's consciousness composed by the settling and layering of experiences (bricks) that, in the dialogue confrontation, can pass from one individual to another depending on the viewer's desire. The other one, "The Fallen Angel," referring to the biblical theme of angels cast out of Paradise, re-proposes the theme of pride. In this work, Vianello depicts the fall of the Angel who, following the impact on the earth, shatters into many glass fragments, demonstrating that it was composed of transparent crystalline material as Truth is understood, decreeing its end in a suspension of judgment.
