The Veterinary Anatomical Museum is located in the historic center of the city of Pisa. The Veterinary Anatomical Museum was founded in 1839 together with the chair of Zooiatry attached to the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Pisa, with the specific intent of documenting the anatomical peculiarities of those species of domestic animals bred for economic purposes. The Museum, in the shadow of Viale delle Piagge, currently houses about 900 artifacts including skeletons, dried, stuffed, stuffed and preserved in alcohol of animal species from livestock production and pets, especially horses, due to its importance in historical-social evolution of man. There are also many anatomical preparations regarding dromedaries from the San Rossore estate. There is also a collection of teratology.
