“Sculptures in the city 1971/2024” is the title of an integrated program of initiatives that includes a research exhibition at the Loggiato della Pescheria and an installation at the adjacent Ex Chiesa del Suffragio of contemporary projects created by ten Under 35 authors. The project starts from the memory of the exhibition "Arnaldo Pomodoro: Sculptures in the city 1971", which saw among other things the first installation of the Large Sphere, one of the most significant works of Pesaro's heritage. “Sculptures in the city 1971/2024” intends to open up to a critical rereading of the historical project and at the same time initiate an original reflection on the broad and complex theme of public art/architecture. Inside the Loggiato, a selection of documents and photographs from the A. Pomodoro Foundation and the Ugo Mulas Archive will allow us to delve deeper into the work of one of the greatest Italian artists, relating (temporal, contextual, conceptual) the case-study of the ' 71 with what happened in other national and international scenarios.

Of particular importance will be the exhibition of two sculptures present in Pesaro in '71, Rotante massimo and Colonna intera recisa. In collaboration with the Ugo Mulas Archive, a selection of photographs taken by Ugo Mulas in '71 will be exhibited on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition widespread in the historic center of the city, presented for the first time in Pesaro in its entirety. In the space of the Ex Chiesa del Suffragio, ten contemporary authors Under 35 will exhibit their projects – Anonima Luci (Milan) light design, Atelier Remoto (Bergamo/Trento) architecture, Caterina De Nicola (Zurich) visual arts, Children's Cemetery (Pesaro) ) urban design, Countersubject (Milan) graphic design, Dewey Dell (Cesena) performing arts, HPO (Ferrara) architecture, Lulù Nuti (Rome) visual arts, MRZB (Bologna) visual arts, XA ARCHIVE (Barcelona) architecture – invited to conceive ten interventions in relation to the topographic memory of the city center and in dialogue with its current community.
