From 18 December to 12 June 2022
Simultaneously with the exhibition dedicated to "Rembrandt incisore", Saturday 18 December at 12 will open at Palazzo Mosca - Musei Civici: "Pinocchioacquatico" , the solo show of the Pesaro artist Luca Caimmi, with the highly original plates taken from his book The Adventures of Pinocchio ( Edizioni Orecchio Acerbo 2018, afterword by Antonio Faeti), which will be open until March 27.
The peculiarity of Caimmi is the interpretation of the classic text of Collodi with a vision strongly linked to its land and the marine world. There are the Marche countryside, the Adriatic coast, the San Bartolo cliff, the nature of the Foglia Valley and the urbanized areas of the port of Pesaro. The characters appear as anthropomorphic fish and reveal themselves in the story taking the guise of narwhal, monkfish, mermaid, seal and here the beloved puppet is completely immersed in water and nature. Marco Taddei explains it well in the introductory text to the exhibition “... if we reread the story of Pinocchio with the nose set on the right scents, there are plenty of sea monsters and dark nights appearing. Perhaps Luca Caimmi had adjusted his senses precisely to these humid parameters when he had the enlightenment to create an underwater Pinocchio. "
The story of pranks, lies, fears, cheats and escapes but also of generosity, affection and courage is embellished through the visionary illustrations but remains faithful to Collodi's adventures made of nocturnal, rainy and insidious atmospheres. So Mangiafuoco, despite the fins, continues to embody the horror of the world of adults and the Blue Fairy, here a mermaid-sorceress, is always the good side.
