From 4 September to 10 January 2021
From 4 September 2020 to 10 January 2021, the rooms of the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria in Perugia will host the works of Brian Eno (Woodbridge, UK, 1948), an influential visual artist, composer and musician.
The solo show, entitled Reflected , created in collaboration with Atlante Servizi Culturali, presents three works that interact with the masterpieces of the most representative artists in the museum's collection, such as Piero della Francesca (Polittico di Sant'Antonio), Beato Angelico (Polittico Guidalotti) and Perugino (Christ died in piety).
"The three lightboxes - declares Marco Pierini, director of the National Gallery of Umbria -" reflect "on the role of the work of art in the contemporary age, reaffirming a sense of continuity with the past that overcomes the differences in technique. style, shape ".
“The work of art - continues Marco Pierini - circumscribes a space that inclines towards sacredness, in which the visitor experiences, more or less consciously, the strength of an intimate, exclusive and yet shared relationship. If in ancient times it was the religious sentiment that arose through the work, now - with its secularization - art has lost nothing of its spirituality, on the contrary acquiring a more universal character ”.
Brian Eno, 'musician-non-musician' as he himself defined himself, inventor of Ambient music, record producer and visual artist, has always sought a mixture between the various fields of investigation of his creative research.
