The Museum of Majolica - Stanze al Genio is located in the center of Palermo and is headquartered in the private palace Tower Pirajino. The museum is named after the nearby fountain of Engineers to sixteenth century Palace. The Museum is spread over eight halls of the main floor where you can see the old paving. The collection consists of Sicilian majolica tiles and bells were used as floor and wall tiles in the style of the noble society, the bourgeoisie and religious communities between the fifteenth and the twentieth century. The exhibition halls are home to about 5000 specimens and is considered one of the largest collections in Europe. The layout is designed according to geographical and time, with the increase of new pieces every year, thanks to the many donations. The "Museum House" hosts smaller collections of antique toys, vintage items, tins and items related to the vintage stationery.
