From 11 November to 21 November 2021
The Mediterranean Image Theater is the theme of the 2021 edition, presented this morning in a press conference at the Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum. Companies from France, Israel, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey will participate in the Festival and there will also be an important piece of Italy with Sicily, Campania and Sardinia. This 46th edition of the Morgana Festival will be a story in several voices, a game of plots and warps that becomes the narrative fabric of a transnational and multi-ethnic community, in some of the most significant places in the city.
The theme? The Mediterranean Image Theater, which will combine workshops, conferences, exhibitions, national and absolute premieres between tradition and modernity in a single long breath, from 11 to 21 November.
The boundaries? They do not exist. Instead, there is the Mediterranean, the great sea that welcomes, with all its landscapes and faces, its thousand characters and storytellers. And the infinite variations of image theater. Animated by shadows, puppets, marionettes and puppets, of course, but also by other fantastic creatures (women and men included) yet tenaciously attached to the world, its dreams, its dramas.
The Morgana 2021 Festival is a narration of bodies, words, instruments, voices and experiments, the year that finally marks its return to presence.
Attached is the very intense program that from 11 to 21 November will bring shows, performances, seminars, conferences, workshops in some of the most representative and evocative places in Palermo: the Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum, the Church of San Mattia Apostolo dei Crociferi, the Church of SS. Euno and Giuliano, the Agramante Theater and the Charlemagne Theater.
