“Gioni David Parra. New trajectories of the sublime” edited by Guicciardo Sassoli de’ Bianchi Strozzi and Lisa Parra.
From the day of the inauguration (Friday, March 14, 2025 at 6:00 pm) iconic works of the sculptor will be visible to the public, to whom museum and institutional exhibitions have been dedicated; among these, in 2024, the solo exhibition From Lunae to Stele at the Museum of Lunigianesi Statue Stele (June-July 2024) and the participation in the permanent exhibition Art in Embassy: Contemporary Italy in Vilnius, in the halls of the Italian Embassy in Lithuania (inaugurated in October 2024).
On the ground floor of the Loggiato di San Bartolomeo a selection of wall works will be exhibited, while on the first floor the sculptures and installations will find space, welcomed among the historical arches of the complex. The catalog, edited by De Ferrari publisher, will be presented at the exhibition's closing event.
Gioni David Parra (1962) is known for his authorial work with marble and stones in general. An eclectic artist, over the years he has expanded his sculptural production with full-round and wall works.
Through a process of dematerialization of stone pushed towards invisible planes, he traces new trajectories of the sublime. Author of public works, he is present in numerous museum and private collections in Italy and abroad.
