Museum Hermann Nitsch

The Hermann Nitsch Museum is located in Naples in the Portecorvo district. The Museum was born as an Archive and Laboratory for Contemporary Arts in a former factory of 1892. The space was created to develop the themes and poetics related to the Austrian artist Hermann Nitsch .

The space traces the life and works of Nitsch highlighting the link between art and anthropology. The collection is characterized by installations that the artist has created from 1974 to the present day. Of great interest is the Documentation, Research and Training Center considered to be at the forefront and a place for in-depth study and training on art . Inside the Museum there is a Library, the Department for Independent Experimental Cinema and the Contemporary Music Audio Library. These departments are the flagship of the Hermann Nitsch Museum for richness and documentation of historical and cultural data.

Furthermore, the Hermann Nitsch Museum focuses heavily on the Educational Section which it promotes through training and planning activities, becoming a reference point for schools and students.
