The "De Feis" Etruscan Archaeological Museum is located in the historic center of Naples inside the building of the Denza Institute of Naples, in Posillipo.
The birth of the “De Feis” Etruscan Archaeological Museum dates back to the early 1900s, when Leopoldo De Feis decided to place all the finds from his Etruscan collection in a single museum. Leopoldo De Feis , teacher of Latin and Greek, during his travels bought numerous objects that became part of his collection. Over the years the collection has been expanded, thanks to large donations from the d'Avulso and Strozzi families.
Currently the collection of the Etruscan Archaeological Museum "De Feis" has a total of 800 finds , including 250 objects from Orvieto and Etruria (southern Tuscany).
The collection is divided into sections from the Bronze Age up to the Severan period . Among the most important works there are bronze and ceramic objects, statuettes of goddesses, cinerary urns and terracotta sarcophagi . The Museum offers the opportunity to visit the exhibition with the help of captions and explanatory panels. There are also educational workshops for schools and families.
