The Church of San Severo al Pendino is a church in the center of Naples.
It is currently deconsecrated and hosts temporary exhibitions inside. The Church of San Severo al Pendino is an example of Neapolitan Renaissance architecture , designed by Pietro Caracciolo , in 1448. Between 1599 and 1620 the church was demolished and rebuilt by Giovan Giacomo Di Conforto in a late mannerist key. It was subsequently remodeled in the first half of the seventeenth century in a Baroque style.
The interior of the Church of San Severo al Pendino presents the sepulchral monument of Giovanni Alfonso Bisvallo , sculpted by Gerolamo D'Auria in 1617, partially dismembered and reassembled after the restoration in the eighteenth century. The structure was used as the first seat of the state archive until 1845. The church has lost its function as a place of worship and has been deconsecrated to periodically host conferences and exhibitions.
