The Fondazione Bottari Lattes was founded in 2009 by Caterina Bottari Lattes. Its purpose is to promote art and culture and to expand the knowledge of the name of Mario Lattes, in his multifaceted activities as a painter, writer, publisher, and cultural promoter. The Foundation is non-profit and carries out initiatives of study and cultural research, either directly or in collaboration with other entities or institutions, and organizes cultural projects and events. Among the main activities are art and photography exhibitions, the Bottari Lattes Grinzane International Literary Prize, the music festival Seasonal Changes, projects for children and teenagers (such as Vivolibro), conferences, theater and film festivals. The President of the Fondazione Bottari Lattes is Caterina Bottari Lattes, and the Vice President is Vittorio Artom Celli. The main headquarters of the Fondazione Bottari Lattes is located in Monforte d’Alba, at 16 Marconi Street. The two exhibition halls (the space on the first floor and the hall dedicated to Mario Lattes on the second floor of the headquarters) represent the ideal places where one of the main purposes of the Fondazione Bottari Lattes is realized: the enhancement and discovery of great artists, both Italian and international. Everything takes place in the context of the cultural promotion initiated by Mario Lattes. The Foundation aims to continue the patronage activity started by Lattes and promote fruitful cultural encounters here. The art collection consists of the paintings, drawings, and engravings by Mario Lattes and the collection of Caterina Bottari Lattes, including works by important artists of the 20th century. The artist's paintings are kept in the art gallery, with a selection exhibited in the permanent exhibition in the Foundation's exhibition halls or in temporary exhibitions organized at external locations. The permanent exhibition is open all year round, from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00.
