Casa della Memoria was inaugurated on the 70th anniversary of the Liberation, wanted by the municipal administration as a public space open to the city to promote discussion and reflection on the still recent history of our Republic and on the ideal and political values on which it is based.
The institution is therefore dedicated to the values of freedom and democracy and is a monument in homage to those who fought against Nazi-fascism, to the victims of terrorism and the massacres of the second half of the 20th century. All the cultural events and public demonstrations organized at Casa della Memory are free. A rich program of exhibitions, conferences, performances and readings animates the spaces on the ground floor during all months of the year. Casa della Memoria hosts five associations (ANED, AIVITER, ANPI, Associazione Piazza Fontana 12 December 1969 and Istituto Nazionale Ferruccio Parri - formerly INSMLI) which with their activity and the collaboration of the municipal administration keep alive the memory of the history of Italy, from the Resistance to the years of terrorism, promoting debate with citizens and activating a dialogue with the new generations. The activities are planned by the Municipal Administration in accordance with the Management Committee formed by representatives of the hosted associations, by the President of the Municipality 9 and chaired by a delegate of the Mayor. Citizens and associations can propose initiatives to be carried out at the Casa della Memoria which will be evaluated by the management. Send the proposals by email to the address: [email protected]
