Fondazione Emilio Scanavino is an institution dedicated to the protection, study, and enhancement of the work of the artist Emilio Scanavino (1922–1986), a central figure in European informal art of the late 20th century. Founded in 2024 in Milan on the initiative of Paola Scanavino, the Foundation collects the legacy of over twenty-five years of activity of the Scanavino Archive, engaged in the research, cataloging, and preservation of the artist's production.
Located in a historic building from the early 20th century in Piazza Aspromonte, the Foundation houses exhibition spaces, operational offices, and a technical-conservation laboratory, establishing itself as a dynamic center for the promotion of contemporary visual culture.
Fondazione Emilio Scanavino promotes exhibitions, research projects, publications, and collaborations with public and private institutions in Italy and abroad, with the aim of deepening and disseminating knowledge of the artist's work and the historical-artistic context in which it is inserted.
In addition to its cultural activities, the Foundation plays a fundamental role in managing the archive and authenticating the works, contributing to the protection of the artistic heritage and the correct circulation of Scanavino's works in the art system.
A point of reference for scholars, collectors, and institutions, the Foundation is configured as a platform open to dialogue and research, committed to preserving and renewing the memory of one of the protagonists of Italian art of the 20th century.
