In the heart of Milan, from April 7th to July 31st, 2024, Palazzo Reale presents an exhibition and a focus that together synthesize the taste and history of Italian savoir faire. On the occasion of the exhibition From the Heart to the Hands dedicated to the creativity of Dolce&Gabbana, Palazzo Reale intends to enhance its historical-artistic heritage and present to the public some historical pieces, once part of its collections, putting them in dialogue with the high jewelry and design creations of the two designers. The focus "Reflected Treasures" was created with the aim of highlighting five artists of extraordinary abilities, active between the 18th and 19th centuries, who were protagonists in creating the decorative apparatus and furnishings of Palazzo Reale in Milan with works that influenced fashion, taste, and design of the subsequent centuries: the mosaicist Giacomo Raffaelli, the Manfredini manufacture, the decorator Giocondo Albertolli, the tapestry maker Michel Audran, and the eminent sculptor Antonio Canova. Within the exhibition path, the most significant pages of the history of the Palace unfold, also narrating the representation of power and prestige through decorative arts, up to our days, where the skill of past artisans guides the leading Italian brands, among the most important in the world.
